Summer Loving

I recently purchased this stunning nude and black floral playsuit from H&M, not only was I drawn to the simplistic beauty of it, but after trying it on, the material was really cool yet comfy which is perfect for these warm summer days. I instantly fell in love with the classic colours, as they would go perfect with any colour accessory, but the simple design and purse friendly price of only £14.99 made me scoop this item up quick! Whilst on a dog walk, my sister took these pictures of how I decided to style this brilliant buy on a casual, sunny day.

Due to the minimal dark colours of the playsuit, I teamed it with bright white accessories. The long line, fine knit cardigan is another summer steal as it keeps you warm yet cool during the sunny days and cooler evenings, due to the soft thin material and loose fitting. This is also another buy from H&M and also comes in many other colours (which I too have in a speckled grey), to match any style and outfit. I then styled this with my bargain £5 white Birkenstock styled sandals from Primark. Due to the footbed sole, they are super comfy as they mold to the shape of your feet making them not only stylish, but also very snug.

To then accessorize this outfit, I wore a simple gold arrow necklace, which was part of a multipack also from Primark. This minimal necklace adds a hint of glamour to any outfit, whilst still keeping it very low key and minimal...and at only £3 for 3 necklaces they too were too good to resist! I also wore my black leather plaited anklet with a sunflower pendant which I found from a small handmade boutique on Depop at 'hellopetal'. The lady is so lovely and makes them to you personal preference with a variety of colours and pendants available.

Have a lovely day,

1 dress, 2 ways

I have been a very lucky girl and received this beautiful bodycon baby pink dress with a white rim from styleheist.co.uk. Not only is this dress the most perfect pastel pink, but the material is so soft and comfy to wear, which I tend to find very rare in fitted dresses. As this dress just fits me right down to a 'T', I thought I would share with you 2 different ways you can style a simple bodycon dress like this one for a day or night look.

Look 1-
I thought I would go for a styled down, casual 'popping to town' day look, and teamed the dress with a white knitted jumper. The jumper is perfect to draw in the white rim of the dress whilst toning down the glamour of it to make it suitable for the day. The jumper is quite a fine knit so it is not too warm and cosy, making it perfect for this weather (as it seems to be indecisive whether it is hot or stormy). The jumper I am wearing is actually from ASDA, however white knits are simple and essential items for the whole year, and are therefore fairly easy to find as they are usually available in most stores.

I then accessorised this outfit with my most favourite item at the moment...my ASOS coral/pink lip shoulder bag. This is the cutest purchase I have made in a long time and is very 90's inspired, which is right on trend this summer and festival season. It is fairly small which I think is very handy for when you are out and about and don't want too much luggage, especially if you are going to a festival you are able to keep all your essentials near you at all times (making the long shoulder strap super handy!). And most of all the colour is amazing and super hot for the summer, making you strand out and be right on trend.

Finally, my bargain purchase is my white sandals from Primark, which are also really soft and surprisingly comfortable to wear. They are just perfect to wear with any outfit, and also come in black to match any look or style you want! At only £6 they are the perfect sandal to rock any trend this summer.

Look 2-
My second look is a going out style which is why I have styled the gorgeous dress with a statement rustic silver clutch and matching platform heels, to add a bit of glamour to the look. The shoes are originally from Topshop, however as I have mentioned in one of my previous blog posts, they are from the amazing next2nowt.co.uk, which sells famous high street brands at discounted prices. The matching clutch however is from boohoo.com. Despite the different brands, the colour match of the two are perfect together as they are so closely matched, therefore really completing an edgy yet glamorous look to the outfit, and perfectly complimenting the dainty pastel pink of the dress.

I then accessorised with another item I have previously mentioned on the blog, this Primark statement necklace. The necklace completes this night time look, as it still provides the silver edge to add to the silver heels and bag, whilst including a row of other pastel coloured suede rope; blue, lilac, pink and white, which layer on top of the dress, beautifully. This bargain buy completes any look, but in this case adds further glamour and colour to compliment such a wonderful dress.

I just want to say a huge thanks again to styleheist.co.uk, for the most stunning dress which as I have shown, can be worn in so many ways!

Have a wonderful day,

Super simple Victoria Sponge with a twist

As I myself am not the greatest baker, however still love making the odd cake here and there, I decided to share with you all how to make the most scrumptious yet super simple Victoria Sponge with a twist!

To make things much easier for myself I got one of the Betty Crocker classic vanilla cake mixtures, only involving 3 eggs, some water and vegetable oil to mix into 2 yummy cakey bases. The instructions are so easy to follow and is so quick to make up. Whilst waiting for the cakes to cook and rise in the oven I began making the jam filling for the cake. You can use any flavoured jam to suit your preference however as I am a rhubarb and strawberry lover I decided to mix the two together to give the mix a slight to twist. I recently found this strawberry daiquiri flavoured sauce/jam at Aldi which has a slight zing of lime within its flavour, and when mixed with some rhubarb preserve, made the perfect concoction to fill in my cake. To further add to this lazy recipe, I used the vanilla butter-cream icing through the center layer of the cake to satisfy the taste buds and supply a creaminess to the cake to prevent it from becoming dry. To add some more fruitiness to the cake, I finely sliced some strawberries which I layered upon the jam and cream, giving the cake a fresh twist, and packed it full of fruity flavour. Finally once layering the other cake base on top of the layers, I sprinkled with icing sugar and dried strawberry flakes which melted in the mouth to add even more flavour and texture to this super simple cake, as well as completing the look of it. However if you are feeling slightly more artistic than myself, you can decorate the cake with many other different edible iced objects/flavours to give the cake your desired look.

So if you are in the mood for baking a cake but aren't very good at it like myself, or are feeling a little lazy, then this is the perfect ingredients for you to create your own personal twist on a classic Victoria Sponge.

Happy baking!

Summer Skin Saviours

Recently I have found some serious summer time skin saviours which not only keep you looking great but also smelling and feeling fab too!

My first absolute favourite product this month is the Dove summer glow moisturiser. As I am very fair it is very difficult for me to find a tanning product which gives me a subtle summery glow without looking like a cheesy puff. BUT after testing out this tinted moisturiser I have never looked more naturally tanned! I apply the product in circular motions over all my body and allow time to dry, gradually a tan begins to appear. The tan develops evenly all over and I have never been faced with the dreaded steaks or orange tinges. So as well as giving you a natural golden tan, the product also softens the skin leaving it silky smooth and even smelling great. The moisturiser comes in fair to medium and dark skin, in order to cater for all skin types.

Next, I have been loving the new Sure maximum protection roll on deodorant. I received this product in my Company Magazine goodie bag and was eager to test it out. I normally use the spray deodorants so was skeptical at first, however it does exactly what it states. The product has a fresh scent and stays on for hours fighting any perspiration leaving you smelling great for longer. I would highly recommend this product for this summer period as it gets so hot and clammy very quickly but this product is a miracle when it comes to fighting sweat.

Finally my skin saviour this month is the sudocreme antiseptic cream. As the weather is getting very warm, ours pores are much more likely to block up and spots begin to arise ruining everything! However after cleansing my face, I apply the cream over any areas which feel as though a spot is beginning to occur and after some patience, the cream helps to reduce any redness and irritation as well as soothing the skin to help fight against the spot in order to leave you with a much clearer complexion, (as well as helping with your self-esteem.)

All of these products are available in many drugstores and supermarkets. I would highly recommend each of these products to help you feel and look fabulous this summer!
