nail it this summer

Here is a selection of a few beauty and fashion bits and bobs I am loving this season. As in most drugstores at the moment, it is 3 for 2 on cosmetics including that of BarryM, so here are a few of my favourite summery shades which have recently been brought out. I really like gel nail varnish as they give such a shiny finish and seem to last a lot longer than the regular ones, and this 'rose hip' pastel shade is a serious favourite right now as it goes with almost any outfit and just looks super cute on! I also got the BarryM matte 'vanilla' nail varnish which is a sort of grey/cream/pink colour. I really like matte nail varnishes as they just look really minimal but classy, and if you are like me and cannot cope with wet nails taking forever to dry, it is a quicken! The final BarryM product I got, was the 'natural glow shadow and blush palette'. The colours are really subtle and natural with shades for every occasion and style, and there is a slight shimmer to a few of the colours to really make your eyes brighter and prettier! They also give a variety of lighter and darker shaded palettes to give that day-to-night time look.

I got this oversized lilac ASOS tee as the colour is so lovely for summer, as I am a big pastel fan, and is the perfect length to wear as a dress or a loose fitted t-shirt (and best if all was a bargain!). I paired this top with a Primark pastel necklace. I love wearing statement necklaces as they just add that bit more to an outfit, and feel as though they just complete the look. The necklace was only £5, and goes with so many things in order to brighten up and make any outfit summer ready!

Hope you have enjoyed my summer inspo outfit!

bootylicious

So I wanted a pair of black boots for the summer which weren't too chunky to wear with dresses and skirts, but still made a statement, and I really liked the peep-toe style which is very popular right now. I was looking online and found pair on Office for £45 however they didn't have my size, so I did a bit of research. I then found these dupes on eBay for only £23.99 with free delivery. They are also available in black or white to suit any outfit and style. The delivery and service was super quick and the shoes were so comfortable and just as I expected (if not better), so if you are after some new booties for the summer I would definitely recommend these beauties!

Have a wonderful evening!

Nothing beats a good wedding

So yesterday was my uncle's wedding, and it was such a beautiful day! I have never been to a wedding until now so found it difficult with what to wear. I had bought these white chunky platform heels from ASOS (similar here) a couple of months ago but hadn't had the excuse to wear them until now. It is surprising how comfortable and easy they are to walk in considering the height, but after spending all day with them on and no real aching...I would definitely recommend these babies if you want a pair of comfy but stylish heels!
I paired the shoes with this matching white ZARA clutch bag (also available here), which is a bloggers heaven it seems. The clutch says 'stressed' on one side 'but well dressed' on the other, which just really adds a bit of personality yet style to any outfit.
After trying on many dresses for the occasion, I decided to wear this TOPSHOP houndstooth and floral print dress. It is quite bold and colourful which I really like for this summery season, and as the weather was just so bright and lovely, it seemed well suited to the beautiful day.
The picture above is of me and my boyfriend (who also decided to match my dress with a skinny blue tie), whilst the other is of my sister, grandpa and I, celebrating the wonderful day!

I hope everyone is having fun and enjoying this lovely weather!

FIX+ your make-up

So today I decided to share with you all my current make-up organiser and favourite new make-up tip to keep your make-up looking fresh all day.

I got this clear plastic make-up organiser from TKMaxx, and they all come in different shapes and sizes depending on what sort of make-up you want to store in it. For example if you wanted one for just your nail varnishes and lipsticks, you could get one which has smaller sections to place them in, or if you wanted one for all your make-up they do a 3 tiered organiser. I decided to get one of these as they just look really good on my dresser as well as making it much more efficient when I'm putting on my make-up. Depending on what sort of organiser you get varies in price, the one I have was £9.99 which is pretty good considering it fits all my make-up and brushes and makes it so much neater and easier to find what you need. I would really recommend to get one (or two) of these if you want to try and organise your make-up and beauty products.

Also, I have discovered a new way of applying the MAC fix+ spray. Whenever I spritzed the product onto my make-up it left a residue and began to make my foundation become blotchy. So, I now spray the product onto my Real Techniques Powder Brush (as it was too big for my compact powder, so was therefore out of use at the time), then gently dab the contents of the brush onto my skin. This way, there is no residue and you can control how much spray you wish to use. I have found that by doing this, it makes my make-up appear a lot more fresher and lasts longer throughout the day!

Hopefully these tips have been useful for you,

homemade peach and strawberry crumble

As summer is quickly approaching it is a priority for many people to want to eat healthy, however the temptations of a classic pudding is always a downfall into getting that summer body...so here is a slight solution of healthier and super easy pudding of the crumble!

What you will need:

a can (or two) of your favourite fruit- I used peaches and strawberries
an oaty crumble mixture
some pretty ramekins to place your crumble in

you can use either fresh or tinned fruit, however tinned is a better option as not only is it cheaper but it is also tastier with the syrup/juice it is in. After draining some of the excess syrup (leaving enough to keep the fruit juicy) place as much as you please at the bottom of the ramekin making sure the layers are flat. Then top your delicious layers of fruit with your oaty crumble mix, which is available at most supermarkets for around 50p, until covered to your desired consistency. After popping the crumble into the oven for around 20-25 minutes, voila you have a perfect yummy, yet healthy, fruit crumble!

Hope this has given some inspiration to create your own interpretation of the crumble,

Bank Holiday Outift

As my recent posts have been mainly beauty related, I decided to post a more fashion focused outfit of the day, so I hope you enjoy! (with the last photo ft. my fav Gus)

dress- topshop
bomber jacket- h&m
boots- eBay
bag- primark

I recently bought this statement beaded bomber jacket from h&m and loved it so much, which inspired me to style this outfit. I decided to create a more dressed down and casual look for this outfit which is why I decided to dress it with a casual t-shirt style dress so it didn't distract from the details of the jacket. I also paired the look with a plain black shoulder bag and black boots to give the look a 'biker' edge, whilst still keeping it very feminine and girly at the same time with the delicate details embellished onto the jacket. However this outfit is perfect also for dressing up with a statement necklace, heels and a clutch if you were going out.

Hopefully this has inspired some of you, or given you any tips on how to dress up or down this kind of outfit!

Have a great bank holiday,

Maintaining Bleached Hair

As those with bleached hair know, it is extremely important to keep your hair in good condition once any bleach has been applied to your hair to stop anymore major damage...so I decided to create a post to help anyone with bleached or damaged hair, on how to maintain your platinum blonde, whilst keeping the condition on top form!

I recently discovered the Loreal Silver Gloss Protect System shampoo, and it has been a life saver for me. I always struggled with the devastating yellow/brassy tones within my hair, so constantly tried to tone it down with various toners. However since using this shampoo not only is my hair super soft and shiny, but the colour is a silvery white, as it tones and cleans the hair all-in-one. So for those who after the platinum white/silver tone to their hair, I would highly recommend this product. It cost me about £17.00 as I bought it from my work (TKMaxx), however it is available also on amazon.

I then use the Bleach London silver condition which smells amazinggggg and is also so nourishing for my hair. I comb this through and leave it on for approximately 15-20 minutes to guarantee a silky smooth feel to my and make sure all my ends are being fully conditioned. This is available on the Bleach London website (www.bleachlondon.co.uk) or at most Boots stores.

Once my hair is dry, I use the Lee Stafford Split Ends serum. As bleach can have devastating effects to the condition of the hair, this product ensures all ends are protected from splitting and damaging further. Only a small pump or two is required in order for the ends to be covered. This serum costs around £10, however if you visit the website (www.leestafford.com), it gives you information of all stores and websites which sell it.

Finally when styling my hair, I discovered the Touch of Silver hairspray. At first I was a bit apprehensive as to how it specifically applied to blonde/silver hair, but once I began using the product all became clear! Not only does it smell so fresh and fragrance, but it gives my hair such a glossy shine and holds my style for the day. I would recommend this product if you want your bleached hair to look well conditioned and the colour at a high shine.

That's all my tips in order to keep white/silver/platinum blonde hair fresh, shiny and in great condition!
